Review: Secret Pearl Eyeliner Extreme Smooth Application (1.2g)

I'm waiting for my flight back to KL, and have some time to update with a post. Following my previous (^^) experience on Silkygirl Funky Eyelights Pencil, I was determined to continue my search for other affordable yet good eyeliner pencil as there is no white color for the Silkygirl range. This time, I wanted to try Secret Pearl Eyeliners, which were purchased at local Guardian stores. For those that are curious, Secret product range is actually from Follow Me, and they have a variety of colors to suite your mood every day.

[ Directions/ How I Use It ]
Similar to my previous post, kohl eyeliner pencils are the best for beginners. Just apply on upper lid near the lash line or on your lower lid lash line. For me, I smudge it out to achieve an eyeshadow function, or for a more dramatic/ sweet look.

[ What It Does ]
Adds definition to your eyes, with pearly colors. The texture is soft and doesn't tug or drag eyeslids. Example: You can play with its colors like a white eyeliner pencil drawn on your lower lid lash line can instantly make your eyes look brighter! It's a life saver when I look tired from lack of sleep.

[ Ingredients ]
Not stated on the pencil, and there are no further information on their website either. On the pencil, there's a stamp 'Made in Germany', with manufacturing date. =p

[ Review ]
These eyeliner pencils are indeed very soft and I like how it glides on the eyelids. The colors are rather sheer(not very pigmented), and chalky unlike the Silkygirl Funky Eyelights Pencils. These Pearl Eyeliner has tiny shimmers in them, but I find the shimmers too sparse, and the eyeliner application is uneven. In fact, the shimmers in the white eyeliner is silver-ish and hence make the white color look 'dirty'. (><) Nevertheless, they don't smudge for about 6-8 hours.

[ Would I Buy It Again? ]
Rating: 5/10
I am quite disappointed with the white-eyeliner as the tiny shimmers really does make the color looks dirty. Sigh, I'll be throwing this into my 'to-be-forgotten' drawer. )><( Luckily the other colors like Sweet Violet (SPE10) and Coral Pink (SPE6) aren't as bad.

Can anyone recommend me a good white eyeliner pencil?

Review: Rosken Skin Repair Whitening & Firming Cream 24hrs moisturization( 200ml)

Whenever I travel, a lotion will always be in my luggage. It's important to keep moisturised because skin will be exposed to the sun or dry weather. A good lotion should keep skin moisturized for the whole day. To check if we need more moisturizing lotion, try scratching your skin a bit, do you see a white scratch line? If there's a line, it means that skin is too dry. Today's post will be a review on Rosken Skin Repair Whitening & Firming Cream (200ml).

[ Directions/ How I Use It ]
Apply generously at least twice a day. Suitable for all over body use and all skin types. I like to apply this after my bath, when skin is still soft. You can also try applying before going to bed, and skin will feel very soft and smooth in the morning. Try it!

[ What It Does ]
With daily use, you may see
Immediately:
- 24 hours moisturization and leaves skin silky smooth.
- skin feels smooth, supple & hydrated
In 28 days:
- Firms the skin
- Improves skin tone
- Skin looks lighter, brighter and more radiant
In 60 days and with continued use:
- Skin is noticeably lighter/fairer
- Skin is more radiant
- Hyperpigented areas (brown marks, freckles, skin discoloration and age spots) are lighter

[ Ingredients ]
Rosken Whitening and Firming Nourishing Cream is a hydroquine-free, moisturizing body lotion containing Tosken's proprietary blend Whitenyl-Firm 11, plus antioxidant E and CoQ10.

It also contains:
Water, Almond Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone Glycerin, Octyldodecaol, Cyclomethicone, Cetearyl alchohol, Water (And) Pentylene Glyco (And) Sodium Lactate (And) Lactic Acid (And) Urea (And) Sorbitol (And) Sodium Chloride (And) Allantoin, Caprylic/ Capric Triglyceride (And) Diacetyl Boldine, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Methyl Hydroxbenzoate, Propyl Hydrozybenzoate, Disodium Edta, Carbomer, Bht, Cetearth-20, Triethanolamine, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkylacrylates Cross Polymer Yeast Extract, Elastin, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Fragrance

[ Review ]
When I choose a lotion/cream, I look for long-lasting effect (whole day). Don't you hate it when skin gets dry even when you've applied lotion earlier on? Rosken's 24 hours nourishing cream is a life-saver, to keep my skin soft and hydrated throughout the day! Yippie..no more carrying a lotion in my bag to apply during mid-day. (><) It's heavy stuff. Furthermore, the more I apply it, I can see that my skin is getting better and better. After using this for a month, my skin looks and feels much better even without any lotion! That was a wow factor for me, as my skin was repaired. (^^)

The texture? It is white and feels slightly more fluid than a cream. Absorbs immediately! Loveeee~

Does it whitens and firms? Oh yes, it does. I apply this on my thighs and they are looking great (^.*) As for the scent, it has a mild soft fragrance which isn't really noticeable.

It really works, seriously. If you have dry skin, you should try and feel the difference. This product moisturizes, firms and whitens. For best whitening effect, I recommend  applying a sunscreen afterwards. I have one at home, another one in the car, and also one more at the office. (^^)  My personal tip: concentrate application on elbows and knees to reduce darkness. It even works in repairing cracked heels!

If you noticed from the first photo, I also purchased another Rosken Cream, which is from the hydrating with Vitamin E range. That one is kinda good too, and suitable for sensitive skin. Let me know if you want a review on that ya.

Did You Know: Travelling Tips Before Flying with Budget Airlines - What You Need To Know

Hello everyone. I'm trying to squeeze another post while I'm over at Singapore. As I am taking Tiger airways this time, today's travelling tips will be related to travelling by air. When I first travelled alone, I was very nervous and wasn't sure what to prepare. So, here are some tips to be shared with you.

[ Booking Flight Tickets ]
There are many ways to book a ticket and most of us do it directly via websites using credit card or bank transfer. Sometimes, we tend to book 2 tickets together for a round trip (depart & return). For those that have a credit card in your home country(e.g. Malaysia) as well as another credit card in your destination country (e.g. Singapore), it may be cheaper if we surveyed a few airline companies and did a comparison of each separately. Seriously! (^^) In addition to that, book tickets early or during promotions for further savings. Do take note that are often promotions a few weeks before festive seasons.

[ Before Flying ]
Check your baggage limit (size and weight) of check-in as well as hand-carry luggage. If you want to pack more stuffs, choose a light-weight travelling bag, and carry your liquids in small containers and not as the original bottle. If you plan to hand-carry your luggage, pre-pack your liquids in resealable plastic bags.

Click here for further information: KLIA Website

Normally LCCT isn't very strict with the weight limits but it doesn't mean that the rules can be ignored. Beware that you might be charged for the extra luggage weight before the flight back from the destination country.

Try to bring clothes that doesn't crumple easily, and you won't have to worry about ironing your clothes during travelling. =) If you plan to do shopping, bring an extra duffel bag. This way, you don't have to spend unnecessary money in purchasing another bag. (*.^) -wink-

[ During Your Flight ]
Get as much sleep as possible during flight to maximize the time at your destination. Plan wisely (^^). Drink more water and avoid caffeinated drinks to stay hydrated, if you are on a long flight. For budget airlines, you have to pay for food/meals separately.

Well, that's all for now. Do you need any other tips? Let me know and I'll share them with you. Have a fun weekend!

Did You Know: We can easily make our own DIY face masks

#1. Did You Know? We can make our own DIY face mask? (^^)

I am a fan of Hada Labo on facebook, and today I read some interesting tips from their site and decided to share with you. I can't wait to try all of them! Here is one of their tips, with a summary poster attached. Stay tuned for more ladies.

First and foremost, you'll need just two items. (1)Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid (SHA) Moisturizing Lotion or Hada Labo Arbutin Whitening Lotion and, (2) Dry Paper Mask of any type. If you are staying in Malaysia/Singapore, you could get some at cosmetic shops such as SASA and Watsons.Once both are ready, you are ready to start your very first DIY face mask.

[ Easy Steps ]
Step 1. Cleanse your Face
Step 2. Pour sufficient amount of Lotion onto a dry paper mask, and let it soak for a while.
Step 3. Once the paper mask has fully absorbed the lotion , unfold the mask.
Step 4. Place mask onto face & relax for 10 - 15 minutes.
Step 5. Remove mask after Step 4, and gently pat the remaining Lotion until fully absorbed

Special Note: It is best to lie down flat on your back to prevent skin from sagging due to gravity!

I'm surely going to try it this weekend. Did I mention how I love that this is much more affordable?
Have fun trying!

Review: Hada Labo Tamagohada AHA and BHA Cleanser / Face Wash (130g)

When I purchased the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion a while ago, it actually came attached with a small tube (50g) of cleanser from their AHA + BHA tamagohada range. Since many are still curious about the newly arrived Hada Labo products here, I've decided to do a review on their cleanser. Presenting you one of my favourite products of this month: Hada Labo's Tamagohado AHA + BHA Cleanser. Have you been searching a cleanser that exfoliates, prevents old skin buildup, yet still gentle for every-day use?

[ Directions/ How I Use It ]
From the label:
- Use twice daily. Squeeze sufficient amount onto your palm. Lather with water and massage onto face, using gentle circular motions. Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

[ What It Does ]
- Gently exfoliates skin to remove impurities, dirt & oil
- Polishes away dullness and refines skin's texture for visibly clear, smooth and radiant skin
- Skin pH balanced. Low irritation.
- Free of fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol & colorant
(Special note: This should be used with a sunscreen product)

[ Ingredients ]
Combination of AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) & BHA (Salicylic Acid) provide clarity, brightness and promote skin cell renewal by preventing dead skin cell buildup. Skin's surface is renewed for a smoother texture.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Potassium Myristoyl Glutamate, PEG-20M, Lauramidopropyl Betaine, Stearic Acid, Lauraide DEA, Glycolic Acid, Lauric Acid, Betaine, Glycol distearate, POtassium Hyrroxide, Methylparaben, Salicylic Acid, Betaine/ Sodium PCA/ Sorbitol/ Serine/ Glycine/ Gutamic Acid/ Alanine/ Lysine/ Arginine/ Threonine/ Proline/ Methylpar

[ Review ]
If you learnt a bit of Japanese language,  then you know tamago refers to egg, and this cleanser can exfoliate cells to reveal smooth skin like beautifully peeled hard boiled egg. (^.*) Don't get what I mean? Watch the video below:

For the original link, click here.

I have used other exfoliating/scrub cleanser and most are either too harsh (contains hard grains/ watnut shell bits) and too drying with a tightness feeling after washing. However, this one has a white creamy texture and there are no grains/ hard shell bits that may rip or scratch your skin. In fact, it feels like a normal cleanser! For any area that needs more exfoliating, concentrate on that area of the face more. Easy, right? (^^) You may use the Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion after cleansing, like I do.

For a clean face, just use a bit of product and you can create a rich lather. After rinsing off with water, skin looks clearer and fairer. It is free of fragrances, mineral oil, alchohol & colorant. Yeah! suitable for my sensitive skin and it worked so well that I finished the 50g sample and bought a bigger tube Hada Labo Tamagohada cleanser of 130g. =)  Affordable yet effective. High Five (^^)/*

[ Would I Buy It Again ]
Rating: 9/10
Love this cleanser! My face looks clearer & fairer with daily use (I use this every evening), even though I didn't scrub at all. It doesn't cause breakouts and is not drying. However, because this cleanser removes old skin, remember to apply a sunscreen afterwards for sun protection for day use. This cleanser also has a foaming version (recently arrived), but I can't seem to find it anywhere yet. Perhaps I should try that after I finish this tube, eh?

(For those that have used this cleanser, did you like it?)

Lots of love, Eisse J

Review: Hada Labo Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Lotion (170ml)

About a month ago, I did a review on the Hada Labo Whitening Lotion. As promised, here's my second review on Hada Labo products. (^^) If this is the first time you are reading this blog, their lotion actually refers to a toner. The packaging doesn't look like much, but this is one product that I didn't regret picking up. =)

[ Directions / How I Use It ]
From the label:
Use twice a day on a clean face.
Apply on palms and gently pat onto skin until thoroughly absorbed.

For me:
I only use this every morning, so that my face can stay moisturized throughout the day.One or two drops is enough for the whole face and neck. To apply, just use your palms and massage the lotion onto skin or gently pat it (Best for full absorption).

Play this video for a demonstration of patting.
The advertisement is in Japanese, but you'll get the idea. By the way, you just need to use a drop or two, unlike what the model in showing (><) You also don't have to pat that hard, she's being a bit over-dramatic here, don't you think? (=.=)"

- replenishes and locks-in moisture for complete hydration. Skin feels significantly soft and supple.

[ Ingredients ]
Contains advanced skin hydrating ingredient - Super Hyaluronic Acid, with twice the moisture retention capacity of Hyaluronic Acid ( 1 gm of Hyaluronic Acid is able to hold up to 6 liters of water). Replenishes essential moisture to visibly improve skin texture and prevent dryness so that skin will stay soft, hydrated and supple.

Water, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, PPG-10 Methyl Glucose Ether, Disodium Succinate, Methylparaben, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Succinic Acid, Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate

[ Review ]

This product is highly raved on many blogs and also on the popular  taiwan show nu ren wo zui da å¥³äººæˆ‘最大. It also claims that 1 bottle is sold every 4 seconds in Japan! I would say that it is really suitable for people with dry-ish skin like me to keep skin hydrated for the whole day, especially before applying makeup. The texture is clear and feels a bit more silky/sticky compared to their other Whitening Lotion, but will disappear once fully absorbed. Furthermore, I love the fact that there is no fragrances, mineral oil, alcohol or colorant. So far, only Guardian is selling Hada Labo products and we are getting the ones that are made in China. It doesn't bother me, though.

Rating: 10/10
Absolutely. I love it... after using for a few days, skin looks and feels better. [No more breakouts! \(^^)/] I use this daily in the morning, and the Whitening Lotion at night so that face stays boing! boing! Have fun patting away girls. =)
Is it just me? or is the background music sooooo relaxing........(~v~)

When makeup feels boring or you just want to spice up a look, a pearly or shimmery colored eyeliner would be a nice touch.
